POD design participated and won a design competition for a new park honoring all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and City of Green Fire Department personnel. The project site is located behind Fire Station #1 at Massillon and Steese Road. The winning concept seeks to build upon the expressed mission for the Green Veterans Memorial Park by depicting a setting focused on the community, its families and individuals who have served to ensure the freedoms we all enjoy today. The site is laid out in a manner that deliberately takes each visitor on an emotional journey of reflection that will leave them with a sense of pride, gratitude and an enhanced connection with their community.
